KARACHI – A pre-Ramzan circus was jointly organised by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) in various parts of Karachi on Monday, after the Islamabad High Court had put a ban on the same for the month of Ramzan.
The circus was fittingly hosted by the nation’s topmost Ramzan host, Aamir Liaquat Hussain, who recently joined the PTI.
In what was an unconventional event, even for a Ramzan related show, vehicles were torched, bullets were fired into the air, tents and camps ransacked, while performers of the two parties hurled stones at each other conjuring a spellbinding traffic jam.
The traffic jam trick was played on University Road in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, while Hakim Saeed Ground was host to the magical ransacking.
However, the audience’s favourite performance was obviously played out by Aamir Liaquat Hussain, who at the end of it came out with torn clothes, amidst rapturous applause among those present, and especially those who later saw the pictures on the internet.
At press time, the final pre-Ramzan circus show by the two organisers in Karachi is scheduled for Saturday May 12, with Aamir Liaquat Hussain expected to steal the show yet again.
