In a stark move of racist xenophobia and selfishness, Pashtun leader Manzoor Pashteen is demanding for his ethnicity a disproportionate access to the nation’s judiciary.

“This is a federation,” said Nazir Bhatti, a Lahore-based political analyst.

“We have to distribute resources as per the population and, yes, maybe some other considerations like low development. What these guys are asking for is a little too much.”

“The Pashtuns are only 15 percent of this country, yet they demand much, much more than that proportion,” he said.

“And what a stupid justification they are giving. That the reason is that they are incarcerated more than other ethnicities by military and paramilitary forces and that the constitution says that everyone has to be produced in front of a civil magistrate within twenty-four hours of being arrested so they need more judicial officers to look into their cases.”

“This is not how cooperation between federating units takes place. We need to be reasonable here.”
