PESHAWAR: The proceedings of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly once again become the victim of lack of quorum on Friday.

According to details, the proceedings of the provincial assembly was scheduled to resume after a break of two days with KP Assembly Deputy Speaker Dr Meher Taj Roghani in the chair.

Soon after the recitation of the Holy Quran, member of provincial assembly (MPA) from Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Bakht Baidar Khan from Lower Dir pinpointed the lack of quorum in the house after which the chair was left with no other option but to make calls for maintaining discipline in the house.

The deputy speaker was adamant against adjourning the proceedings of the house and directed the legislators to maintain discipline during the assembly proceedings.

He then proposed a 15-minute break before proceedings could be restarted. However, legislators did not agree to it and the deputy speaker had to adjourn the proceedings of the house till Monday as only 28 members were present in the assembly at that time.
