AUCKLAND – After scoring an important 44 off 34 balls in Pakistan’s comprehensive win in the second T20 against New Zealand, opener Ahmed Shehzad said he couldn’t understand why people still can’t believe that he is a good luck charm.
“I come, I see, I conquer,” Shehzad said while talking to The Dependent. “I have been doing that throughout this decade. I don’t understand why people don’t believe that I am a good luck charm.”
It is pertinent to mention here that Shehzad was included in the lineup for the second T20, after not being considered for the first and not being in the ODI squad at all.
This meant that after losing six matches on the bounce – five ODIs and the first T20 – Pakistan’s first win on the New Zealand tour corresponded with Ahmed Shehzad’s inclusion.
Shehzad vowed to carry the good luck that comes with him into today’s third and series deciding T20.
“They might as well give us the trophy now,” Shehzad said. “Why go through the hassle of playing out an entire match when we all know what the result will be with Ahmed Shehzad in the lineup.”
