HEC announces HAT for scholarships and admission to MS/MPhil programmes

ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) through its Education Testing Council has announced a Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT), which will be needed to achieve HEC scholarships and get an admission in MS/MPhil programmes. The deadline for the online registration is January 31, 2018.

The test, the score of which will be valid for two years, is being organised for the applicants who have already applied through the official portal of the HEC, those who intend to apply for HEC scholarships in the future as well as those interested in applying for an admission to MS/ MPhil programmes in public as well as private universities.

The aptitude test will be conducted in four different categories termed as HAT-1 for engineering and  IT, HAT-2 for management science and business education, HAT-3 for arts and humanities and social sciences, and HAT-4 for agriculture and veterinary sciences, biological sciences, medical sciences and physical sciences.

The candidates will be marked from a 100 percent grading system comprising 40 marks for quantitative reasoning, 30 marks for verbal reasoning, and 30 marks for analytical reasoning.

In order to appear in the HAT, the applicants have to register through etc.hec.gov.pk. The applicants have been advised to carefully select the correct HAT category according to their qualification. Also, they can choose their test centre from the list that is available on the official website. The roll number slips will be issued to successful candidates through courier at the provided address and the same can also be downloaded from the e-portal after the completion of due process.
