ISLAMABAD – Days after the government starting taking action against proscribed outfits including Hafiz Saeed’s charity organisations, with the police taking down a banner of Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) and its subsidiary Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF) in Islamabad, the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Milli Muslim League (MML) chief could considering forgiving the government if an apology is tendered in time, The Dependent has reliably learnt.
Sources close to Saeed have confirmed that the criminal case lodged against unidentified persons responsible for putting up the banner for fund-raising, and the police action can also be forgiven if those responsible apologise in time and explain their positions.
“They just need to say sorry and confirm that they didn’t really know what they were doing,” a JuD leader told The Dependent. “Hafiz saab isn’t looking for any confrontation, since he has much better things to do, like getting the Milli Muslim League registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan.”
Another MML leader confirmed that the apology is just a ‘formality.’
“It’s just a formality,” he told The Dependent. “Because everyone knows that we can go to the court and get everything approved in any case.”
“Not that we really need any approval from anyone when we have them on the back.
