LAHORE: Youth Forum for Kashmir (YFK) on Sunday organised a protest demonstration from the Aiwan-e-Iqbal to the Lahore Press Club against human rights violations inside the Indian-held Kashmir (IHK) and on the Line of Control (LOC) by the Indian army and its paramilitary forces.
A large number of people participated in the demonstration.
YFK Chief Organiser Tariq Ehsan Ghouri and other leaders of the forum addressed the participants on the occasion. Chanting slogans against rights violations by the Indian forces in the disputed state, they urged the world community and human rights’ defenders to listen to the voices of Kashmiris.
They were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans in favour of Kashmir struggle.
Tariq Ghauri said that world community should not continue to become a silent spectator on extrajudicial killings and other human rights violations in the disputed state. He added that December 10 reminds United Nations and other world powers of their responsibilities on the long-standing issue of Kashmir.
He further stated that Kashmiris demand their right to a plebiscite as per resolutions of UN Security Council.
Other speakers also highlighted various aspects of Kashmir struggle. They said that civilized world should come ahead and play a role in resolving Kashmir issue to save innocent women, children and youth of the disputed Kashmiri state.
