KARACHI – The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Karachi Kings on Tuesday announced to appoint left-arm spinner Imad Wasim as in-charge of the team’s affairs for the third edition of the league which will be played next year.

While talking to The Dependent following the announcement, Wasim said he will try to follow in the footsteps of other greats in the country who have successfully managed their affairs in the past.

“They’ve led from the front. I am just going to follow their lead,” he said. “I have been handed a responsibility and will try to perform to the best of my abilities,” he said.

“I have been playing aggressive and will maintain that aggression for Karachi Kings,” he added. “I will not only lead the team’s affairs in the best way possible but will also concentrate on my individual performance.”

Imad also expressed his disappointment that Chris Gayle has been released by the franchise. Praising Gayle, Imad said the explosive West Indian batsman was “the best” thing that happened to his personal life, in recent times.

“He has taught me so much. I hope to be a similar role model for other youngsters and upcoming players in not only Karachi Kings, but the rest of the league as well.”
