‘Mandatory police presence in slip cordon during power play’ – Sethi announces new rules for SL tour

LAHORE –Ecstatic over the fact that his years-long efforts are bearing fruit in his home country, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman NajamSethi lauded the historic decision by the board to finally make him the PCB chairman.

While talking to the media, he also said it was a bonus that Sri Lanka are touring to celebrate the historic decision of appointing him the chairman, an appointment which could help boost international cricket in Pakistan.

In the press conference Sethi also shared new rules approved by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to ensure that the tour goes ahead smoothly.

“First, the fielding restrictions would be 2km outside the stadium,” he began. “Second, there would be mandatory police presence in the slip cordon during powerplay, and only two police officials would be allowed outside the 2km circle around the stadium.”
