In a major political development, former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ahmed’s lower back has decided to join the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI.)
“It was a long time coming,” said Dr Hassan Zaidi of the Political Science Department at LUMS. “Since long, his lower back had been giving indication of joining the PTI, constantly excusing the interior minister from attending important party meetings of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).”
“And only recently did the lower back cause Nisar to refuse to join the rally of the deposed prime minister on GT road to Lahore,” he said. “Nisar’s efforts for the jalsa in Lahore itself means that he and his lower back are not on the same page on the issue of whether or not to remain in the League.”
“This has been a long time coming,” said the former interior’s lower back. “Though I have not yet been able to convince Chaudhry Saab himself, I am sure the larger message of the PTI is going to win him over, as it did me.”
When the former interior minister himself was contacted, he said that he tried his very best to stop the decision of his lower back. “There were some pretty strenuous lower back exercises that I did, which were supervised by doctors of physiotherapy qualified by the King Edward’s Medical College. All of those proved to be useless. I wish my lower back the best of luck in the future.”
