Zakat and Usher Provincial Minister Naghma Mushtaq has said that the department is keen to provide financial assistance to deserving people on a regular basis.
It plays a vital role to facilitate the deprived segment of society by issuing the funds for basic and technical education, healthcare, marriage grant and financial backing for visually challenged people, she added.
She expressed her views while talking to a delegation of NGOs at her office today.
She said, “The government of Punjab is determined to do away with poverty; therefore, Khadam-e-Aala Punjab Rozgar scheme has been launched.” The latest technology is being used for disbursement of Zakat funds, she said, adding the underprivileged are being bestowed with monetary support in the form of Zakat through mobile phones.
