DIG operation suspends Model Town SHO over crimes in area

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Dr Haider Ashraf said that a strict crackdown must be initiated to arrest proclaimed offenders in the jurisdiction of all the police stations of the city and a comprehensive plan must be crafted to curb the menace of crime.

He was speaking in his office on Friday while reviewing the situation of crime in the month of February in the Iqbal Town and Model Town division. On the occasion, SP Iqbal Town Dr Muhammad Iqbal, SP Model Town Capt ® Mustansir Feroze, all the circle officers and SHOs were present.

A rigorous red-plan must be prepared to arrest the proclaimed offenders and the security of banks, jewelry shops and educational institutions would not be compromised, he said. He instructed the police officials to document the cases of old enmities and ensure the routine patrolling of police on important roads. He said that only those SHOs who perform their duties vigilantly can serve in the police stations.

Dr Haider Ashraf reprimanded SHO Iqbal Town Nasrullah as the incidents of motor-bikes theft were increased in the area. He suspended SHO Model Town Sohail Iftikhar due to the increasing crime rate in his area. He also gave instructions to the SHOs of all police stations to improve their performance as any sort of negligence will not be tolerated.
