Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah Friday suspended SSP Malir Rao Anwar who had handcuffed and detained Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Leader Khawaja Izhar ul Hasan.

The CM Sindh had earlier suspended SHO Sohrab Goth who had supervised a raid on his residence.

Khawaja Izhar told that policemen in plain clothes had searched his house. He added only women were present at home and that they were harassed.

The MQM Pakistan leader added that he was not at home when the raid was carried out.

Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani condemned the attack saying that police should inform the speaker before conducting a raid at any assembly member’s residence.

  1. With Sindh CM busy locking up, sealing and pulling down MQM offices, and having already scored a century in respect of MQM offices demolished, and DG Rangers staff getting away with torture and death of MQM senior member Aftab Ahmed in Rangers custody – despite ordering of an inquiry by the army chief – it was only expected that the rest of the ambitious force will wage their own, risk-free war against MQM.

And while the senior Police officers were pleading ignorance of who launched the raid, even suggesting that these may not be policemen at all. However, latest information is that Khawaja Izhar has been arrested by SSP Rao Anwar, in an illegal move and in violation of procedures on which charge Rao Anwar has been suspended again, perhaps temporarily.

Earlier on Dr. Farooq Sattar was roughed up by Rangers and now the Policemen taking liberty with Izhar's family members, which is quite in line with the trend set by Sindh DG Rangers who found a perfect buddy in CM Sindh
