5 members of a family shot dead in Gujrat

Five members of a family were shot to death in Gujrat village of Moinuddin Pur on Monday, police said.

A man named Tasawur Hussain, his wife and three children were killed when unknown assailants broke into their house and opened fire at them, according to police.

However, officials added while insisting that it was too early to speculate about the accurate reason behind the killings as they were still investigation various aspects of the case.

The incident occurred in the Punjab’s village of Moin-ud-din where armed men stormed a house and opened random fire at the victims.

Police arrived at the incident site, cordoned off the area and initiated further investigation into the matter.

Children aged between 12 to 17 years were among the victims, said police officials.

Meanwhile, in Lodhran, a clash broke out between two groups near police emergency centre because of which at least three people were wounded.

Details revealed that the groups clashed after their vehicles collided as a result of a minor accident.

Fortunately, police officials later sorted out their dispute.
