Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) Director General (DG) Shahnaz Anjum Riaz has issued a show-cause notice to the director admin for illegally convening a meeting on departmental promotions.
Sources said that director admin Abdul Waheed had called a meeting on departmental promotions without bringing the matter to the notice of the DG.
According to the sources, when Shahnaz found CADD official Saqib Shahab in FDE, she inquired about the purpose of the visit. Shahab told her that the director admin had called him to attend a meeting on departmental promotions.
Unable to comprehend the matter, when the DG inquired from Waheed under what capacity has he called the meeting, the director admin lost his temper and misbehaved with her and allegedly threatened Shahnaz of dire consequences.
According to the sources, after the episode, CADD official Shahab also expressed his reservation over convening of the meeting without the knowledge of the DG.
According to the sources, director admissions Taj Bhatti had also made a purchase of millions of rupees without bringing the issue to the notice of the DG.
It is pertinent to mention here that Shahnaz has been restored to the DG slot on the directives of the Supreme Court after she was removed off and on. The sources claimed that many officials in the FDE and the CADD were not happy with the Supreme Court order and they were allegedly putting hurdles to fail the DG.
