A woman, Shaheen Bibi, attempted suicide after her husband threatened he would contract second marriage in Jatoi area of Muzaffargarh. The woman succumbed to her burn injuries in Multan’s Nishtar Hospital Sunday night.
According to the details, the woman had attempted suicide after being disheartened. She contacted the police however no action was conducted after which Shaheen Bibi dowsed herself in petrol and set herself on fire due to which she suffered severe burns on her whole body.
Shaheen was immediately shifted to Multan’s Nishtar Hospital but could not survive.
The woman’s family said that her husband used to quarrel with her on a daily basis.
