12-year-old helper allegedly beaten up by employers

FAISALABAD: Another terrifying incident of child abuse was seen in the Civil Lines area of Faisalabad when a 12-year-old helper, Samiah was reportedly thrown out of the house of her employers.

The incident happened late on Monday night. According to the police, the locals saw the girl and rescued her, after which they informed the police and gathered outside the employer, Jawad’s house in protest.

Civil Lines police reached the site but Jawad didn’t come out of the house.

The police have taken the girl, Samiah in their custody and said the matter will be taken further after the medical examination of the girl.

A similar case happened in Islamabad when 10-year-old maid Tayyaba was allegedly tortured by her employers, Additional District and Sessions Judge Raja Khurram Ali and his wife Maheen Zafar.

Although the case is being pursued by Islamabad High Court after the Supreme Court of Pakistan took suo motu notice of the matter, the girl’s parents have said that they do not want to pursue the case further.
