Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Zaidi on Saturday expressed his annoyance over the arrangements made for the third phase of local bodies polls.

He was addressing a news conference in Karachi along with city Amir of Jamat-i-Islami (JI) Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman.

Ali Zaidi was of the view that the PTI’s demands were not implemented by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). These demands, he added, were: grant of magisterial powers to the Rangers officers, election material including the ballot boxes be shifted under the supervision of Rangers, Rangers be deployed inside and outside the polling stations and they be present during the counting of the votes. However, Ali Zaidi said, these demands were not accepted. He was also critical of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and alleged that PTI polling agents and workers were threatened.
