Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal on Friday said that a comprehensive mechanism was being evolved to ensure effective and speedy execution of China Pakistan Economic Corridor projects.
Chairing a meeting on the subject in Islamabad, he directed all the concerned ministries to finalise their suggestions within five days to deal with the impending challenges to the corridor projects.
The minister said a consolidated and inclusive plan on the road map to implement CPEC projects will be presented to the prime minister to avoid any future discrepancy.
He said a structure of monitoring and evaluation is being created, envisaging the prime minister’s own involvement at the top and project site office at the bottom.
Ahsan Iqbal said a joint working group on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will soon be constituted.
He said the group will consult all the provinces about setting up of industrial parks and economic zones.
He said an independent website is also being set up to provide all relevant information to the public about the projects.
The minister castigated negative remarks made by the Indian media and some political circles.
He urged all political parties and civil society to show coherence on the CPEC projects to defeat all the conspiracies at home and abroad.
Ahsan Iqbal hoped that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects will benefit people of each region of the country.
