A police constable was killed when some unidentified armed men opened fire at him near Faizabad Checkpoint on Tuesday.
According to police sources, the suspects were trying to flee on their car after murdering a woman in NawazSharifPark in Rawalpindi. Police constable deployed at check post tried to stop their car but the armed men inside the car opened fire at the police personnel.
The constable, identified as Safdar, sustained serious injuries. He was taken to PIMSHospital for medical assistance where he succumbed to his injuries.
After the firing, the attackers left their car at the site of the incident and managed to get away. Rawalpindi police are carrying out further investigations regarding the murder of the woman.
