Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former National Assembly (NA) member, Hanif Abbasi could not be indicted on Monday in the ephedrine quota case as the lawyers had gone on a strike against the murder of their colleagues in different cities.

Anti-Narcotics Court Special Judge Arshad Mahmood Tabassum was hearing the case when Abbasi appeared before the court. He was given the copies of the challan but could not be indicted due to the lawyers’ strike.

The interim bail of others accused in the case, including Khawaja Asad and Salim Shirazi, was extended till September 18.

The court adjourned the hearing after fixing September 18 as the date for Abbasi’s indictment.
