The Punjab government on Tuesday took punitive measures against 17 doctors who assaulted the Gujranwala DHQ hospital Medical SuperintendentDr Anwar Aman .
Per details, eight doctors were terminated from service, whereas six others were suspended and three were transferred. The Young Doctors Association (YDA) went on a strike after the arrest of doctors who broke into the MS’s office. The YDA reacted to the development by announcing a strike on January 10. However, a petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the Young Doctors Association,s (YDA) call for strike on January 10. The petitioner termed the YDA as a “criminal gang” and urged the court to cancel the of striking doctors who put lives of patients at risk to hit the roads. He said the court should take action against them under Sections 300 (murder) and Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
If any death occurs during strike on January 10th , YDA will be responsible for that.Second step could be to terminate those doctors. Third step could be , do not pay them for month of January,2013.(this one will be mildest response)
