A protest against US drone strikes was organised in Wana on Saturday. Local sources said that the massive protest attended by 20,000 people was led by the Ahmedzai Wazir tribesmen. All commercial centres in Wana, including Wana, Azam Warsak, Birmal, Angoor Adda and Rustam Bazaar were closed. The protesters were also carrying banners and placards and chanted slogans against the US and drone attacks. Ainullah, an important of the Mullah Nazeer group, said the peace agreement with the Pakistan government will continue as Pakistan is their country as well. He said that the Wazir tribe was proud of the martyrdom of Mullah Nazir. Attacks by unmanned US aircraft or drones remain contentious and are deeply unpopular in Pakistan. A couple of days ago in three simultaneous drone attacks killed Mullah Nazeer, a Taliban commander of the Wazir tribe.
