Unidentified men on Saturday gunned down the provincial head of a charity organisation – run by the Jamaat-e-Islami – along with his driver in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Charsadda District. The provincial chief of Al-kihdmat’s education wing and his driver were shot dead by unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle in the Uthmanzai area of the district. The Charsadda police confirmed that both Zakir Hussain and his driver Khadim Shah succumbed to their injuries on the spot. Advocate Israrullah, JI provincial information secretary, said that Hussain was killed when he was on an inspection visit to a local school run by the JI in the district. To a question, he said, “Zakir Hussain had no enmity with any one, and the incident is a target killing by terrorists, who are striking at will but the law-enforcement agencies had failed to protect its citizens.”
