PTI and Waziristan

As usual our armchair politicians sat to comment and criticize Imran Khan for his dare-devil tour to Waziristan. Some called it a ‘political stunt’ while others criticized it as SW instead of NW. Whatever, the tour has been done and hundreds of people went with him, including females. All along he kept his cool and did not react to usual methods of blocking him. (Some parties must have been surprised because the method used was imported from outside and practiced already in Karachi).
PTI has had foreign media unanimously support his move against drone attacks and the stupid war against terror. He very rightly said the objective had been attained. One thing he has proved second time is that no-go areas can be visited. His first was Quetta. Our political parties are getting cramps for what Imran can do and particularly when he says something to restore confidence in the people across the country. People are sick of NRO, letter to Swiss authorities, ephedrine, LG government law, fires in factories, stagnant water in Sindh, accidents, rapes, killings, bail or no bail to this man or that, Gilani’s departure from Presidency and hundreds of such self-created issues for TV anchors and analysts to keep them busy.
People are sick of mysteries and ambiguities. People are sick of rise and fall of petroleum products and of load shedding and firing of one senior officer or loading poor Nargis Sethi with yet another ministry. Imran’s visit is one meaningful and practical step. I guess all politicians should get back to schools and learn the ABC of politics, a lesson that there are better methods of ruling the country other than fooling people and keeping them occupied.

  1. The rally was not allowed to visit the no go area, as Army redirected them back to their homes. None of the victim of was met to know their sufferings.
