Tension and insecurity gripped various parts of the garrison city after the recovery of human body parts in the jurisdiction of three police stations.
According to details, police recovered two legs which were packed in a paper-carton box and were dumped near the railway line in Dhok Maie Sawar area in the jurisdiction of the Airport Police Station after some area residents informed them about the presence of a suspicious box.
While talking to agencies, Sub-inspector Asmat Mehmood of Gulzar-e-Quaid said that the legs were separated from the knee and the cuts seemed to be freshly made.
Later, the body parts were shifted to the District Headquarter Hospital mortuary for medical assessment.
In a second incident, an arm was found in a graveyard located in Habib Colony, Jhanda Chichi in the premises of the Civil Lines Police Station. Similarly, another arm was recovered from Nullah Leh in Mohallah Usman Pura area of the City Police Station.
Hospital sources said that both arms were chopped off from the elbows.
Police said that the body parts appeared to be of a man, who was killed brutally by unknown persons and his body parts were dumped in different places.
It should be mentioned here that the recovery of the human body parts from different areas of the city not only created panic and fear among the citizens but also raised many questions on the performance of the law enforcement agencies regarding the security of the people.
