Indiscriminate crackdown on the warring gangsters in Lyari entered third day on Sunday. Sporadic firing incidents caused tension in different areas of Lyari, keeping the entire locality shut. The terrified residents of Lyari claimed that due to the operation, they had been confined to their homes and in the exchange of fire between the police and gangsters, bullets had entered their homes, forcing them to take shelter, and even sleep, on the floors of their houses, while large number of residents on Sunday left their homes and shifted to other localities due to the shortage of food and water.
Also a police mobile arrived at Lyari on Sunday morning filled with food for the police who are fighting against the gangsters day and night but it was not worth eating. Most of the killed are common citizens while the law enforcement personnel failed in achieving significant success against criminal elements. As normal life has been brought to a halt, the higher authorities should take a step to control this violence so that people could live a life of peace in Lyari.
