Sharif Brothers are denying that they have not received any money from Younas Habib of Mehran Bank, while he is claiming that he has paid personally Rs 3.5 million to Nawaz Sharif at his home and Rs 2.5million was transferred to Shahbaz Sharif through Telegraphic Transfer on 27September 1993. Former ISI Chief Asad Durrani has admitted in the Supreme Court that he distributed money to the politicians on the order of COAS General Aslam Beg for forming the IJI as a counter force to the PPP.
One fails to understand why the Sharif Brothers are not apologising to the nation for this act. They should have moral courage to accept their wrongdoing. Everybody knows that Nawaz Sharif was very close to the army establishment and it was General Zia-ul-Haq and General Jilani, who adopted him as their political heir, with a common factor of hate against the Pakistan Peoples Party.
The Sharif Brothers should appear in the Supreme Court to clear themselves from the charges of receiving tainted money, if they are not guilty. It is time for Sharif Brothers to prove that they are men of dignity. They have been frequently calling upon Zardari to return the looted US$ 60million, now in Swiss banks.
