Spanish envoy watches Gandhara exhibition at RAC

Spanish Ambassador Gonzalo Maria Saravia on Friday visited Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) and took keen inertest in the ongoing Gandhara art exhibition. Saravia applauded the creation work of famous sculptor Shafeeq Ahmed. On the occasion, Shafeeq Ahmed briefed the ambassador about the Gandhara art and civilisation. RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed also accompanied the ambassador.
Speaking on the occasion, Spanish Ambassador Gonzalo Maria Saravia said that it was great honour for him to watch such a unique exhibition. He also thanked Rawalpindi Arts Council for giving him a warm welcome. It was a unique thing that Pakistan had preserved its civilization so far, he said and added he would arrange a visit to Spain for the Pakistani artists to see its culture and civilisation. Saravia was of the view that Taxila had become a hub of old civilisation and was a great attraction for the international community. RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed also briefed the Spanish envoy about cultural activities and the council’s role for the promotion of the cultural heritage.
