This refers to the news report “Behind pro-Zardari MQM rally lies a deal with PPP” published in your newspaper on 31 October 2011. The report alleges that the rally organised by the MQM in Karachi on 30 October was the outcome of “settling core issues with the PPP”. It also alleges that demands were made from the MQM side during the meeting with Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik to stop the on-going Rangers operation in Karachi. I reject the report as baseless.
MQM Chief Mr Altaf Hussain has been calling for indiscriminate action against the killers, extortionists, land grabbers, drug peddlers and terrorists involved in undermining peace and stability in Karachi. The rally at Tibet Centre was not planned in advance and was not even remotely connected with the meeting in London. A decision was taken by the o-ordination Committee of the MQM to organise a protest rally against the un-parliamentary language used by the Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif.
This report is baseless and far from truth.
ENGR NASIR JAMAL
Central Information Committee, MQM
I agree with Mr. Nasir Jamal MQM has always worked for the interest of the common masses. MQM is the only political party in Pakistan who seems to have the pain for Pakistan and the Pakistani's. Today Pakistan is facing acute difficulties internally and externally, be it Baluchistan or the war against terror in the tribal belt of KP., so, in a difficult time like this it is commendable the MQM is moving with a mature political sense. Only today a newspaper reports that the PPP govt. served feudal class on purpose, they transferred over rs. 753 billion to rural economy apparently by increasing the support price of major agriculture crops. but due to this approch it has caused higher inflation and macroeconomic instability. It is MQM even though a coalition partner but has always been vocal to the extend that many keep guessing weather MQM is a partner or opposition. But the main opposition party the PML(N) roams around with a friendly opposition Tag. So, it is MQM how is doing constructive Politics for the 98% and not for the prevail-aged class.
