Time to act for government

It would be the repeat if I start enumerating the incidents of violence, terror and target killings Balochistan is witnessing day in and day out. But what is needed to be highlighted and towards which the centre’s attention should be diverted is the total dysfunction of provincial government. The slide down has reached irreversible and irretrievable proportions. It is nowhere to stop because there is no one to stop it. The province seems totally rudderless, no one is responsible, no police, no civil administration, no government. If on one hand, killings are going on, teachers and settlers are being murdered, kidnapping for ransom, smuggling of drugs and weapons, and what not is going on, the rampant corruption on the other hand, the indifference of the corrupt political government to the apathy of the people, the inaction of police and political administration at the behest of government is all along prevalent. It seems no man’s land, except there is probably one ray of hope that too has its constitutional limits.

Has the central government in Islamabad some time to spare for us, the people of Balochistan, out of its busy schedule of power-play and blame game, wheeling-dealing and mudslinging? Shall you wake up? Do something concrete for us, help us get out of this constant atmosphere of fear and dread.

One is not against the political dispensation, it is always the political government that remains to be the linchpin, but what would you do if the political dispensation refuses to function, takes things easily and haphazardly. What do you think when will be any other harder time than now to declare an emergency or pack up this government and give the province under governor’s rule, so that the centre can directly be able to handle the affairs? Time is now, act now, or do not then blame us to go limitless.

  1. War on terrorism cannot be won unless the government does not come up with a clear cut strategy of stopping the production of improvised explosive devices.

  2. Media is playing a good role in creating awareness of terrorism, however it is in the hands of the government to device new measures to stop terrorism and the use of improvised explosive devices.

  3. Yes, improvised explosive devices have claimed thousands of lives already so Government needs to come up with a strategy of halting its production.

  4. EU will be providing Pakistan with the latest robot system which would help the bomb disposal squads in spotting the improvised explosive devices that terrorists use to spread violence.
