The Islamabad police detained a diplomat for allegedly humiliating a police official after violating law. The diplomat was shifted to the Margalla police station for further proceedings of the case. Later, police allowed the diplomat to go after recording his statement.
The diplomat was intercepted by an official of the Islamabad Traffic Police when he parked his vehicle in no-parking zone of the Immigration and Passport Office in Sector G-8/1, and asked to remove his vehicle from there but he refused to take out his car and reportedly started arguing with him.
The law is made for everyone whether he is a diplomat or a citizen. If he misbehaved with a police official then justice should prevail. This is a good sign that the police took the diplomat to the police station and recorded his statement knowing that he is a diplomat. I request all the citizens and diplomats to cooperate with the local police to ensure a healthy and safe environment within the city.
