An insult?

Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that “criticising President Asif Zardari is an insult to the mandate of parliament and the provincial assemblies.” The scene which our roads are presenting for the last three days shows that the present setup itself is an insult to democracy as well as the people of Pakistan. The Information Minister might not be aware of the fact, because she lives in the loadshedding-free-zone that the public is facing more than 16 hours power shortage a day. She might be unaware because she does not have to buy the daily food items herself that the prices of basic commodities have increased more than 300 percent since her party has come into power. She might not know, because she does not belong to the rapidly disappearing middle class that what a commoner has to face every day to make his both ends meet.

Whatever bad is happening in this country in the name of democracy and parliament, PPP and PML(N) and all other major political parties that have representation in the parliament are equally responsible for it.
