The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Punjab chapter on Friday warned the Punjab government of launching protests if the print and electronic media is stopped from true reporting of the dengue disaster. PTI Punjab leaders Dr Yasmeen Rashid and Andleeb Abbas gave this warning fearing possibilities of creating hurdles for the media in portraying the real picture of the dengue disaster in the province, especially Lahore.
They said that the Punjab government had no plan to deal with this serious issue and was blaming the media for creating panic to cover its incompetence. Yasmeen and Andleeb said that calling Sri Lankans for help had supported allegations that cronies of the provincial government had pocketed billions of rupees in the anti-dengue drive.
