At least two volunteers of a local peace committee were killed and 10 others, including personnel of security forces, were injured in improvise explosive devises (IEDs) explosions at Baizai area of Mohmand Agency. Officials say a joint party of security forces and volunteers of peace committee was patrolling the Manzai Cheena area when two IEDs planted by militants exploded. The explosions caused lives to two and injuries to 10 others.
The injured persons included personnel of the security forces were admitted in Ghalanai and Peshawar hospitals. Two vehicle’s were also damaged in the attack. Officials further said the third phase of the military operation Brekhna (Lightening) against militants has been started wherein joint squads of security forces and volunteers of the peace committees have been constituted. They ARE conducting raids for netting out of the militants, escaped from their hideouts.
