YDA delegation calls on Punjab health secretary

A 25-member delegation of the Young Doctors’ Association (YDA), headed by its spokesman Dr Nasir Abbas, called on Punjab Health Secretary Jehanzeb Khan on Tuesday. The delegation apprised the secretary of problems being faced by doctors of remote areas.

The delegation demanded regularisation of medical officers working under the Punjab Rural Support Programme (PRSP) besides increasing posts of house officers. Doctors demanded that show-cause notices issued to doctors during the strike be withdrawn and lacunas occurred in this regard be also removed. The delegation also informed the secretary that a 50 percent salaries increase was not being given to
doctors who are getting any other special allowance.
