In the recent past, we have witnessed the support and involvement of police officials in terrorist activities. This revelation was alarming because it points towards the growth of extremism in all the walks of life.
Its high time that the authorities rethink and redesign the process of recruitment for the police. This can only be made possible if the political ties between police officials and politicians are severed. Another important point is the recruitment of police. The existing process is not up to the mark. Additionally, it is largely believed that heavy bribes are accepted by police officials to recruit politically backed individuals.
I think that a process similar to the Army recruitment be followed so that the police force is both physically and mentally fit and free from bias.
