LAHORE – District and Session Judge on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of a private complaint filed by Naveed Aslam Baig, seeking direction to conduct a preliminary inquiry of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s ‘murder’ case. Baig submitted that Ziaul Haq toppled Bhutto’s elected government and hanged him for the murder of Nawab Muhammad Ahmad Khan, with the aid of Naseem Hassan Shah and Federal Security Forces DG Masood Mahmood.
The complainant prayed the court to summon Ijazul Haq and Dr Anwarul Haq; Ziaul Haq’s sons, Naseem Hassan Shah and Masood Mahmood among others for the case. He informed that Masood Mahmood had confessed his crime in a TV program, so the court may order an impartial inquiry through some ‘honest and fearless’ police officer. The court has fixed the February 10 for further hearing of the said private complaint.
