Police force is meant to maintain law and order and carry out arrests and investigations endowed to them by law and constitution of this country.
However, there is a constant rift between the police force and the citizenry in our country. Perhaps both sides are to be blamed. A country still held hostage by a strong feudal culture finds it difficult to align this relationship. Police provides a service like fire brigade and other public service organizations. However, due to the feudal culture sometimes we observe policemen purposely teasing ordinary citizens. An equal blame goes to the citizens who only contact police when needed and never try to keep a healthy mutual relationship. The wave of terrorism that affected the whole country also took precious lives of our police force along with citizens.
We being responsible citizens of this state must try to appreciate the efforts of our police force, which selflessly perform their duties to safeguard our interests. Policemen also come from the same society that we belong to, so there is a strong need to develop a healthy relationship so that the whole community can play its part in eliminating crime from the society.
