WAPDA edge out Nepal Police 2-0

LAHORE - National champions WAPDA struck in both the sessions to beat Nepal Police Club 2-0 in the Group C tie of the seventh AFC President's Cup at Dasarath Rangasala Stadium on Wednesday. The goals were struck by Arif Mehmood and Jadeed Khan.
The home team opened the match in style. WAPDA got tempo in the seventh minute as Arif Mehmood went through the defense, but NPC keeper Ritesh Thapa came forward to clear the ball.

LAHORE - WAPDA and Army won their matches in the 15-a-side Inter department rugby Tournament at Lahore rugby ground here Wednesday. President Pakistan Rugby Union Fawzi Kawaja is chief guest today. The first match was played between WAPDA and Navy which WAPDA won by 29-0.
In the second match, Army trashed Police by 24-0. Army again played some tremendous rugby and Police did not get any chance to score.

ISLAMABAD - Almost on the verge of a financial collapse, WAPDA has to recover Rs 210 billion from defaulters, with an estimated Rs 83 billion outstanding against various government departments and Rs 127 billion yet to be cleared by the private sector.

LAHORE - An accountability court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of a reference filed against former WAPDA and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Lieutenant General (r) Zahid Ali Akbar until April 14.

Govt owes Rs 83,522.47 million to WAPDA, Senate told

ISLAMABAD - The Senate was informed on Wednesday that various government departments owed Rs 83,522.47 million to WAPDA and its total recoverable amount across the country was Rs 210,784.64 million.
