KARACHI - LG Electronics (LG) unveiled its vision and aggressive plans for its home appliance business at the recent consumer electronics show in Las Vegas. LG will target double-digit growth in 2011 and push for sales of $20 billion in 2014 to position the company as the top global home appliance manufacturer.

KSE unveils revised list of firms eligible for CSFC trading
KARACHI - The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) Tuesday issued a revised list of the companies eligible for trading in Cash Settled Futures Contract (CSFC) market. Through a notice (KSE/N-326) the bourse notified the members the names of some 38 securities declared eligible for the CSFC trading in the equity market.

World Bank unveils $1.72b loans to India
NEW DELHI - The World Bank on Friday announced $1.72 billion in loans to India, including $1.5 billion to build 24,000 kilometres (14,880 miles) of roads across seven states of the country. The global lending agency also provided $255 million to the first phase of an Indian project to mitigate effects of cyclones, World Bank President Robert Zoellick said after the signing of the two separate agreements.

WASHINGTON: The Pentagon on Sunday condemned the latest release of classified documents by WikiLeaks and unveiled steps designed to prevent future disclosures of secret files.
