JAKARTA - At least 17 people were wounded in a suspected suicide bomb attack during Friday prayers at an mosque in a police compound in Indonesia's West Java province, police said.
"We suspect it was a suicide bombing," Indonesian police spokesman Anton Bachrul Alam said.
"The blast occurred in Cirebon police headquarters compound during the beginning of Friday prayer," he told reporters.

KARACHI - A man suspected to be a bandit was shot down by Rangers near the Karimabad flyover, the Gulberg police said on Sunday. According to Rangers officials, 30-year-old Jahangir was looting citizens near the Karimabad railway track. Rangers personnel were passing through on motorcycles when they saw Jahangir looting a family. They ordered him to surrender. However, when he tried to escape from the scene, they opened fire on him. His body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

ADEN - Gunmen killed two soldiers in the southern Yemen town of Zinjibar on Monday in separate shootings which a local official blamed on Al Qaeda.
The attacks came in different neighbourhoods of Zinjibar, the capital of restive Abyan province, the official said on condition of anonymity. "They bear the hallmark of Al Qaeda, which often attacks soldiers," he added.
