LAHORE - The Lahore Customs Agents Association (LCCA) has announced its intention to go on strike against Pakistan Railway's step to raise charges of six services including port surcharge, demurrage, crane handling, weigh bridge and gate entry fee. According to the association, Railways had increased charges by 20 percent, despite the fact that these charges were raised by approximately 30 percent four months ago.

TUNIS - Thousands of protesters rallied in the main government quarter in Tunis on Monday calling for Prime Minister Mohammed Ghannouchi to resign after the fall of veteran leader Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.

KARACHI - Doctors working in public sector hospitals across Sindh including Karachi observed a two-hour strike on Friday in response to the call issued by the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Karachi against increasing incidents of killings of doctors in the province.
