Army shine in rugby
LAHORE - Pool matches were played on the opening day of the All Pakistan Inter-Department Rugby championship 2011 at the Karsas Naval Base in Karachi on Saturday.
The tournament is being organized with the collaboration of Pakistan Rugby Union, Navy and Sindh Rugby Association. The rugby championship is featuring five departments Army, Police, Wapda, Railways and Navy.

PRU releases rugby calendar for 2011
LAHORE - The Pakistan Rugby Union on Wednesday announced the calendar for the year 2011.
Addressing a press conference here, PRU secretary Arif Saeed said that Pakistan was placed in Division-III and in the coming years they would drive their way into the second and first divisions. PRU President Fawzi Khawaja was also present on the occasion.

Islamabad beat Lahore in rugby opener
LAHORE - The Pakistan Rugby Union launched its season with a friendly test between Islamabad Jins and Lahore Rams on Sunday.
Islamabad Jins beat Lahore Rams 8-5 at the DHA Rugby Stadium. The Jins were captained by Shiar Aslam while Manan was the captain of Lahore.
After a competitive first half, Lahore took the lead. A quick turnover by Shakeel gave the ball to Babar who scored. The conversion taken by Menaan was no good so the score was 5-0 to Lahore at half time.
