NH&MP declares 2011 as ‘Year of Road Safety’

LAHORE - The National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) N-5 Central has decided to declare 2011 as the "Year of Road Safety", NH&MP Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Ibne Hussain said on Monday while chairing a meeting of senior officers at the agency's zonal office.

21 dead, 25 injured in China road accidents

BEIJING - At least 21 people were killed -- including 14 schoolchildren -- and 25 injured in two car accidents in China on Monday, one of which involved over 100 vehicles, state press reported.
The 14 children died when the three-wheeled vehicle in which they were travelling plunged off a road in central Hunan province early Monday, Xinhua news agency said.

PESHAWAR: At least 15 people, including five children, were killed and 45 injured when a passenger van lost control and fell in a ditch in Mingora on Sunday.
