Taliban rule the roost in Peshawar jail
PESHAWAR - More than 160 Taliban militants have established a state within state in the Central Jail Peshawar, one of the major prisons of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In these circumstances, the presence of notorious extremists has deprived the death cells' inmates of joining their loved ones for sometime in according with decision of the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the Judicial Committee.

Peshawar car bomb kills 10
PESHAWAR - At least 10 people, including two children and two women, were killed and another 32 were injured when a car bomb exploded at Badhabher area of Peshawar on Wednesday. Police said an explosives-laden vehicle had been parked near a bazaar on Teleband Road.

Peshawar jail becomes a safe haven for militants
PESHAWAR - Whatsoever may be the claim or justification by the rulers, it is a fact that Peshawar Central Jail has become a "safe haven" for the militants.
The militants have established a state within the state and are forcing prisoners, particularly criminals, to join them. PESHAWAR - At least 22 people were killed and several others injured on Wednesday when a suicide bomber rammed his explosives-laden vehicle into the boundary wall of a police station in the outskirts of Bannu district, and a school van hit a roadside bomb in Peshawar.

Tribesmen resent Muharram security measures in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: The tribesmen on Friday rejected the district administration's security plane for the Muharram citing that it would deny them entry to the metropolitan.
They said it was discriminatory decision as it implied as if all the tribesmen were terrorist or saboteurs. On 24 November, the district administration had imposed Section-144 and banned wall-chalking, use of tinted glasses in the vehicle, pillion-riding and brandishing weapons at the public places.

10 NATO tankers torched in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: At least 10 NATO supply tankers were burnt to bare iron when unidentified militants attacked them in the wee hours of Saturday on the Ring Road in Peshawar.
A 2.5 kilogramme bomb was also discovered from the site, which was later defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad, reports said. According to details, the armed suspects launched the attack on Arbab Jamil workshop on the Ring Road, where a number of NATO supply tankers were parked.
