CTP orders crackdown on traffic violations

Lahore - The City Traffic Police (CTP) has announced a massive crackdown from 1st March onwards against drivers without traffic licenses. The Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) SSP Syed Ahmed Mobin has commanded DSPs, circle in-charges and senior traffic wardens to launch a crackdown against the violators without any discrimination. TOKYO - A Japanese court has ordered the government to give one man a record $2.4 billion tax refund, newspapers reported. The Supreme Court ruled tax authorities had no right to ask for 160 billion yen ($1.92 billion) in gift tax from Toshiki Takei, a former director of consumer loans firm Takefuji Corp., the Yomiri Shimbun newspaper said.

LAHORE - The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday included the name of Moonis Elahi, son of former Punjab chief minister Pervaiz Elahi, in the watch list and alerted immigration staff of all airports to arrest Moonis on his arrival.
