FAISALABAD – Following two cases of daylight bank robberies in Faisalabad in 10 days, SSP (Operations) Dr Usman Anwar has laid down a special strategy by assigning the security responsibility of the banks to the respective SHOs who will be held responsible for any robbery.
The police officers were directed to visit the banks and take action against the bank managers who would fail to implement the security parameters such as burglary alaram system, sniper point, closed-circuit TV system and a round-the-clock security watch in their branches.
The SSP warned the heads of the branches that if a CCTV system was not working in their branch, they would be held responsible for the breach of security. Dr Usman Anwar expressed his dissatisfaction over the current security cover provided to the financial institutions in the city after he made discreet visits to the various bank premises in Lyallpur Town in the busy areas of the city and found the policemen leisurely chatting together deserting their duty points.
He called SP Lyallpur Town Rai Zameer-ul-Hassan and censured him for laxity towards his manpower and directed him to reorganise the bank security and arrange their briefings before assigning them the bank security duty.
