WAPDA edge out Nepal Police 2-0

LAHORE - National champions WAPDA struck in both the sessions to beat Nepal Police Club 2-0 in the Group C tie of the seventh AFC President's Cup at Dasarath Rangasala Stadium on Wednesday. The goals were struck by Arif Mehmood and Jadeed Khan.
The home team opened the match in style. WAPDA got tempo in the seventh minute as Arif Mehmood went through the defense, but NPC keeper Ritesh Thapa came forward to clear the ball.

Both matches will start at 3.30 PM. WAPDA's next matches will be against Taiwan Power Company on April 22 and Balkan on April 24, at Halchowk Stadium. WAPDA will rue the absence of Khuda Bakhsh, who is famous in domestic soccer as super-sub.

LAHORE - Afghanistan beat Nepal 19-11 in an interesting encounter of the first SAARC Baseball Cup at the Punjab Stadium here on Saturday. Both teams started their innings in aggressive way. Afghanistan made two scores. Mohammed Tahir and Mohammed Alam made a score each.
