Earth witnesses another super perigee moon
LAHORE - Earth witnessed another super perigee moon on Saturday, as forecasted by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)'s report in The Birmingham News on Friday. The report said "perigee" was the point where the moon made its closest pass to Earth during its oval-shaped orbit. LAHORE: The Muharram moon was not sighted on Monday and the Yaum-e-Ashura will now fall on December 17, 2010. Mufti Muneebur Rehman, chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, told reporters in Peshawar that no testimonies for the sighting of the moon were received from across the country. ISLAMABAD: The moon of Zilhaj has been sighted and Eidul Azha will be celebrated in Pakistan on November on November 17, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Munibur Rehman announced on Sunday.
The meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in the Committee Room of the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Zonal committee meetings were also held across the country and information about the position of moon was conveyed to the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman.
